SINDH: Local Government (LG) elections are underway in Sindh after the verdict of the Sindh High Court (SHC) to commence the elections on June 26. Clashes were reported in different polling stations, resulting in 3 deaths and several injured, BOL News reports.
As per the report, the firing incident happened in Allah Jario Primary School of UC-25 in Rohri, where two people were killed, and the polling staff stopped the elections. In Tharpakar, a Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) worker was injured during a mob lynching by the Pakistan people’s Party (PPP) mob.
In ward 14 of Jacobabad, the Sindh Police pushed the candidate of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Zaheer Khan Jakhrani out of the polling station. According to the PSP candidate, the PPP candidate was casting fake votes in the polling booth, and the SHO pushed him out of the station. In Kandh Kot, a political worker was injured and was taken to the hospital after the clash.
In ward 13 of Tando Adam, the political workers of PPP and PTI came before each other. As per the details, the brother of the PTI candidate for ward 13 was killed during the clash. His body was shifted to the hospital. In ward 5 of Khair Pur, a collision was reported between the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and PPP for the allegation of rigging the election, which resulted in injuring 3 political workers.
