KARACHI: The court has ordered a further investigation and the formation of a medical board in the Dua Zehra case on Saturday – the girl who went missing mysteriously only to be found later in Lahore married to Zaheer Ahmed, BOL NEWS reported.
According to details, the Dua Zahra case was heard in the Judicial Magistrate East Court of Karachi today during which the court ordered further investigations into the case.
As per court remarks, the health secretary will write a letter to the medical board to determine her age, after which Dua Zehra’s age will be finalized.
Earlier, Dua Zehra’s father withdrew a petition filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Sindh High Court (SHC’s) decision that allowed his daughter to decide where she wants to go, with her parents or husband.

As per the details, the SC warped up the case after Mehdi Kazmi’s lawyer pleaded with the court that his client wanted to withdraw his petition.
At the outset of the hearing, the judge Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar asked Zehra’s father if their daughter does not want to go with them even after a detailed meeting then what course of action should the state adopt.
Justice Sajjad Ali Shah said that even though he respects the sentiments of the parents but one cannot deny Zehra’s right to marry the person of her choice, while Justice Munib Akhtar remarked that the parents should have approached civil courts to get relief.
