  • The first phase of local body elections in 14 districts of Sindh will be held tomorrow.

The first phase of local body elections in 14 districts of Sindh will be held tomorrow, BOL NEWS reported.

As per details, the first phase of by-elections in Sindh will be held tomorrow in 14 districts including Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad and Mirpur Khas.

In this regard, Sindh Provincial Election Commissioner Ejaz Anwar Chauhan has asked the contesting political parties and candidates to abide by the law so that the polling can be conducted in a fair and peaceful manner.

According to the details, polling for the second phase of local body elections in Karachi, Thatta and Hyderabad divisions will be held on July 24 as per schedule. Notably, voting will begin at 8 a.m. and continue uninterrupted until 5 p.m.

Previously, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) postponed local body elections in Islamabad, reported BOL NEWS.

ECP released an important statement in Islamabad High Court (HC) where it was stated that they will make new constituencies then the schedule of by-elections will be provided.
As per details, Islamabad High Court heard a petition seeking a settlement of elections without increasing the number of union councils. While the court ordered the federal government to co-operate in by-polls.
