The Livestock Department has set up medical camps in the cattle markets established for Eid-ul- Azha and a letter has been sent to the Secretary of Local Government, all Commissioners and the Chief Executive Cantonment Board.

The letter holds that the screening of the animals is crucial and special measures in regards to the spread of the Lumpy virus in Eid cattle markets in Sindh must be taken.

It was also underscored that the emergency camps are also settled at the cattle markets to avoid the spread of the disease.

Earlier, the administrator of the cattle market Muzaffar Qureshi also claimed that the animals were not allowed to enter the cattle market without thorough inspection. “First, they are taken to a marshalling yard where veterinary doctors inspect the animals if they are fit for sale or if they suffer from any disease.”
