KARACHI: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that the armed forces were ready to respond to any aggressive attempt and the nation has been proud of the forces for strengthening the national defense.

Addressing the passing out parade at Pakistan Naval Academy, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the force saying that Pakistan Navy has an important role to play in protecting maritime borders.

He opined that the Navy is a strong force defending the borders of the country adding that Pakistan needs a strong navy more than ever.

“We believe in peace, coexistence and good relations with our neighbors,” the PM said.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister also congratulated the parents of the cadets and midshipmen who received the commission and said that it was a matter of pride to attend the Passing Out Parade.

He said that Naval Academy was also providing training to friendly countries and cadets from friendly countries would demonstrate their skills in their forces.
While praising the women in Pakistan, the premier added that the commissioning of women would be a beacon for other females in the country.

Notably. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is on a one-day visit to Karachi and Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) today.

After addressing the Passing Out Parade at Pakistan Naval Academy, PM Shehbaz will have a meeting with the delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
