Israeli charges of an Iranian conspiracy to murder Israelis in Istanbul

Iran said on Friday that Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid’s claims of an Iranian plot to hurt Israelis in Istanbul were “ridiculous” and meant to hurt relations between Iran and Turkey.

At a press conference in Ankara on Thursday, Lapid praised Turkey for its assistance in foiling a suspected Iranian plan against Israelis in Istanbul and stated that the endeavour is ongoing.

In a ministry tweet, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh referred to Lapid’s “ridiculous” charge as a “pre-designed scenario to destroy relations between the two Muslim countries,” referring to Turkey and Iran.
