As per sources, the total power generation is 21,783 MW while the demand for electricity in the country is 27,000 MW. 4,926 MW of the energy is being generated from water.

According to the details, the government thermal plants are generating 924 MW of electrical energy and the overall generation of private sector power plants is 12,425 MW.

However, the production from wind power plants is 1,140 MW and from solar plants is 100. While Bagas-powered plants are generating 123 MW of electricity. Notably, nuclear fuel 2,145 MW of power is being generated.

On the other hand, up to 10 hours of load shedding is being carried out in different parts of the country, and the duration of power outage is longer in areas with high losses.

Previously, unannounced and recurring power outages in Karachi added to the miseries of the already inflation-hit nation as the electricity shortfall has reached up to 500 megawatts (MW).
