Hours before he was “shot dead by his own father,” a bereaved mother revealed devastating doorbell video of her happy kid heading off to school for the last time.
In what authorities consider to be a murder-suicide, Greyson Kessler and his father John Stacey, 47, were found dead together in May of last year.
Ali Kessler, Greyson’s mother, was captured on camera laughing with her son moments before he died, telling him, “You almost struck mummy in the face,” as they were leaving the house together.
Prior to Greyson shouting “a butterfly” as he departed for school for the last time, CCTV footage captures them going down the walkway together.
Due to Greyson’s love of butterflies and the fact that she recently hosted his one-year memorial, Ali made the decision to release butterflies at his funeral.
Digital marketer Ali claims that she constantly watches videos of Greyson while suffering through what she calls “anyone’s worst nightmare” and that her campaign to bring attention to domestic violence is the only thing keeping her going.
“I found the video after he passed away and I was just like, ‘Oh my God, he’s shouting that there’s a butterfly,'” said Ali, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I sobbed.
“I watch videos of him every day. I happened to take so many photos of him over the years.
“That’s not even the beginning of what I look back on.
“I shared the video because I want him to be remembered and honoured and to create awareness to what’s going on.
