Food crisis talks among Turkey, Russia & Ukraine will be mediated by UN

Turkey and Russia have agreed to hold dialogue with Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations to prevent a worldwide food crisis by ensuring the safe exit of millions of tonnes of grain from the war-torn nation, according to the Turkish state news agency.

This week’s meetings between a Turkish and Russian delegation in Moscow, according to Anadolu Agency, were “constructive and very positive.”

It was stated that a four-way meeting with officials from Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, and the United Nations will take place in the coming weeks.

Food shortages due by the conflict in Ukraine and Russia’s blockade of Black Sea grain supplies threaten “hunger and destitution” for hundreds of millions of people, according to the United Nations.
