ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Interior Rana Sana Ullah on Tuesday says that International Monetary Fund (IMF) is not ready to be flexible in its terms and despite raising petrol prices, the IMF has not yet agreed to sign the agreement, BOL News reports.
As per the details, the interior minister claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) should support the government in the Charter of Economy. “The PTI government promised the IMF that all the subsidies will be finished,” Rana Sanaullah said.
“The IMF has the agreement of the previous government, they have put terms same as the previous government. However, despite the increase in petrol prices, the IMF is not showing any flexibility,” claims the federal minister.
“Due to the increase in the dollar prices, the IMF deal is delayed. Once the deal is completed, the prices of petrol will go down to 182 rupees,” says Rana Sana Ullah.
“Pakistan government is taking advice from Pakistan Muslim League-N leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar. He is aware of the current situation, but the PTI has made the economy so adverse that it is now difficult to control it,” he added.
