The year 2017 will go down in Pakistan cricket history as one of the most memorable. In 2017, the Pakistani team, led by Sarfaraz Ahmed, won their first Champions Trophy; and the victory appeared to be even more meaningful because they defeated arch-rivals India in the final. Pakistan advanced to the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy after easily defeating hosts England in the semi-final. To qualify for the final, the Indian team defeated Bangladesh by nine wickets. Pakistan managed to beat India and win the CT2017 trophy.
