PTI announces to contest by-election on NA-245 seat

KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) on Saturday announced to contest the by-election on NA-245 seat, which fell vacant after PTI leader Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s demise.

Veteran PTI leader and former Sindh governor Imran Ismail said his party would contest the by-poll with full force. “We will tell why people come to cast their votes and why they do not come out,” Imran Ismail said addressing a press conference in Karachi.

He said the Pakistan Peoples Party was committing oppression on the masses. Ridiculing the former president, he said Asif Ali Zardari was telling how the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) would work and he was working on legislation regarding anti-corruption. He said the government did not have one narrative.

Imran Ismail said Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari talked about trade with India and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected it.

“If the incumbent government remained any longer then everybody would feel its repercussions,” he said.

He said the government was going to increase petrol price to Rs270 per litre. He said people went to petrol pumps, when Finance Minister Miftah Ismail came on TV.

The former governor said the government was afraid of the United States, therefore it would not buy cheap oil from Russia.

“Miftah Ismail should tell that how someone having Rs50,000 monthly salary can make both ends meet. Miftah Ismail is a factory of false promises and he is only making those,” he said.

He said former prime minister Imran Khan’s government was sent packing under a conspiracy. The cipher was a reality and a conspiracy was hatched from outside of the country, he added. Referring to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said brother of the imported government was fully involved in the conspiracy.
