FATF grey list: PTI responds to Hina Rabbani’s presser

  • Fayyaz Chohan said Hina Rabbani was protesting months ago against the money laundering legislation
  • He added that it felt good to hear the virtues of exiting grey list from the minister of state
  • Hammad Azhar also said that PTI-led government has passed dozens of laws and regulations in order to achieve the target

ISLAMABAD: In response to Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar’s press conference regarding FATF grey list, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan said that the nation will not forget the former’s protest against money laundering legislation in the National Assembly.

Fayyaz Chohan recalled that only a few months back Hina Khar was making statements and protesting against the legislation regarding the FATF grey list.

While touching on the presser, he said that it felt good to listen from Hina Rabbani Khar the virtues and benefits of exiting the gray list adding that the minister of state wants to wear the honour of the glad tide.

Earlier, former federal minister Hammad Azhar in a presser on Saturday said that Pakistan has showcased appraisable performance for FATF adding that the PTI-led government has passed dozens of laws and regulations in order to achieve the target.

He opined that during the last months of the PTI government, the departments strived hard to work on all the conditions and submitted the report.

“It has been a pleasure for the nation that the difficult phase has ended,” he added.

Notably, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar said Saturday that Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has now acknowledged with the consensus that all action plans have been largely addressed by Pakistan and no pendency of action remains on part of the country.

She was addressing a press conference here when announced the glad tiding that Pakistan is now one step away from exiting the grey list of FATF.
