LAHORE: Assistant Commissioner Revenue Imran Raza Abbasi allegedly committed suicide in Lahore.
Police said the Grade-19 officer was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his apartment. The police shifted his body to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Imran Abbasi was posted in Lahore only a day ago after returning from Islamabad. His driver opened the flat door, and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.
Police officials and forensic teams reached the site and collected evidence. The motive for the step couldn’t be ascertained.
Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique took notice of the incident and ordered police to investigate the matter. He sought a report from the SP Model Town.

SP Model Town said that police will ascertain the reasons of Imran Abbasi’s death in the light of the medical report.
Abbasi passed PMS over 20 years ago and previously served as Director Anti-Corruption Bahawalpur and Faisalabad.
Shortly after the news of his death spread, social media users started linking it with corruption cases against the PML-N even though Abbasi was never part of any corruption cases linked to the Sharif family.
