Voice actor, Billy Kametz died at the age of 35 after a battle with colon cancer and received tributes on social media.
Within the anime and video game industries, the 35-year-old actor was well-known. Kametz won Best Voice Actor Performance (EN) at the 4th Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2019 for his work as Naofumi Iwatani in The Rising of the Shield Hero.

He’s also done voice work for Attack on Titan, Boruto, Demon Slayer, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Josuke Higashkata), Pokémon Journeys (Ren), and Neon Genesis Evangelion (Shigeru Aoba).
Kametz was born and reared in Pennsylvania, and his Disney career began as a member of the Disney cruise line’s entertainment team. When he was offered the part of Aladdin in Disneyland’s Musical Spectacular, he moved to California.

Following his cancer diagnosis, he stated earlier this year that he would be taking a sabbatical from acting and returning to his hometown of Hershey, Pennsylvania. Fans donated to a GoFundMe page set up to help him pay for his medical bills. On June 9th, he passed away.
