Mitchell Marsh of Australia has been ruled out of the final T20I against Sri Lanka in Palekelle due to a calf strain. He is expected to need a week or two to recover, which means he will miss at least the first two matches of the five-match ODI series that follows.

Marsh was injured during Australia’s three-wicket win in Colombo on Wednesday, which gave the visitors a 2-0 series lead with one game remaining. Marsh has been replaced in the side for the final T20I by Josh Inglis.

The allrounder has also been named to the Test squad for the two-match series against Sri Lanka, which begins at the end of the month in Galle, though he is unlikely to be called upon unless Cameron Green suffers an injury.

Marsh hasn’t appeared in an ODI since July of last year. Due to a hip flexor injury, he missed the three-match series against Pakistan prior to the IPL.
