Earthquakes struck southwest China’s Sichuan Province on Friday, injuring four people, as per local authorities.

As per the China Earthquake Networks Center, a 5.8-magnitude quake and a 6.0-magnitude quake slammed the city of Maerkang in Aba Tibetan-Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in the early hours of Friday.
According to the earthquake assistance headquarters, the quakes had affected a total of 25,790 individuals as of 7 p.m. Friday. 24,808 individuals were evacuated in Jinchuan County, Aba.

More than 2,800 firefighters, police officers, and other rescuers have been rushed to the earthquake-stricken districts.
