Aamir Liaquat Hussain who lived the last years of his life bogged down in controversies was found dead at his residence at Khudadad Colony yesterday. The tragic demise of one of the most celebrated personalities of Pakistan has left the nation shocked but at the same time has sparked several hearsays regarding the death.

The sad reality is that the celebrity who once ruled millions of hearts and maintained his pre-eminence throughout his life breathed his last with no one around. The word on the street goes that the host has committed suicide besides many guesstimates that he died of depression after three failed marriages.

Before giving it a cessation, it’s high time for all of us to think over the demise of the well-known host that whether the televangelist died a natural death or the ferocity of social media killed the soul.

The bitter truth is that the privacy issues on social media have sparked concerns in the users for quite some time that have stemmed from the ever-present social networks in our lives with no certitude of one’s space. Over the past few years, social media platforms have become the contrivance for revenge or to run down someone.

The leaked videos of Aamir Liaquat are an example that made a stink on social media and the users felt privileged to speak their minds out with no solace for the actual victim. Hussain after the released videos vowed to leave the country and was referred to as being depressed over the things said on social media about his personal and professional life. Multiple times, Aamir Liaquat shared video messages on social media setting forth his disappointment over the handling of his case by his followers. But all ended up in vain.

The truly larger-than-life figure who dominated the screen for many years wasn’t expecting this response from the nation as many of his followers didn’t refrain from speaking ill.

The news of his sad demise spread like a wildfire leaving many in shock but then there were those who reminded others of his controversial past and the statements he gave during the bad days.
