Fire breaks out in a crockery factory in Hamidpur, Delhi, but no one is injured

  • On Thursday evening, a fire broke out in the godown of a carpet and crockery factory in Delhi’s Hamidpur neighbourhood.
  • To put out the fire, 23 fire trucks were sent to the scene.
  • According to the Delhi Fire Service, more than seven fire tenders went to the scene to extinguish the wildfire, and a total of 20 persons have been rescued thus far.

On Thursday evening, a fire broke out in the godown of a carpet and crockery factory in Delhi’s Hamidpur neighbourhood.

However, no fatalities have been recorded from the scene.

To put out the fire, 23 fire trucks were sent to the scene.

According to SK Dua, Divisional Officer, Delhi Fire Service, the NOC was not obtained from the relevant authority when the plant was established.

“23 fire tenders are engaged in the dousing operation. It’s a godown of different things. They have not taken NOC from the fire department nor do they have any system to douse the fire. No casualties have been reported so far,” Dua said.

On Thursday, a fire broke out near Shah Masjid and Batla House in the Jamia Nagar neighbourhood of the national capital.

According to the Delhi Fire Service, more than seven fire tenders went to the scene to extinguish the wildfire, and a total of 20 persons have been rescued thus far.

On Wednesday, four separate fires were recorded.

The first fire occurred after Tuesday midnight in the Ministry of Home Affairs’ North block. The fire department received a fire call from North block (Home Ministry room number 82 A, B in telephone exchange,” said an official of the fire department.

In the second incident of the day, a major fire broke out at an electric motor parking lot in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar on Wednesday morning, destroying at least ten cars. According to the Delhi Fire Service, seven fire tenders were dispatched and the fire was put out.

The third fire occurred in the electric metre panel in the basement of a building in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar district, officials said on Wednesday.

According to the fire department, ten fire tenders were on the scene.

“There was a fire in the mini basement of the ground plus 3-storey building in Lajpat Nagar area, the mini basement was specially made for electric panels only. We rescued about 80 people,” said Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO), Rajesh Kumar.
