KARACHI: Another citizen of Karachi has claimed that he was abducted by a team of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and released only after giving ransom.
The citizen named Abdul Majid said he and his cousin were kidnapped from Surjani Town. He said 10 plain clothed people arrived in two police mobile vans and shifted him and his cousin to an undisclosed location after tying cloth on their eyes.
Abdul Majid said the CTD officials had sought Rs0.6 million from them but they could arrange Rs0.3 million. He claimed that Inspector Shoaib Qureshi had threatened that he had committed 86 encounter murders and he would be 87th if he did not provide the ransom money.

He said when his brother came to pay the money then they realized that they were being held at CTD Civil Line police station.
“My brother gave Shoaib Qureshi Rs0.3 million outside the CTD Civil Lines police station,” he said.
Abdul Majid has written an application to all the high police officials including Surjani Town police station’s. He has asked them to take action against Inspector Shoaib Qureshi, ASI Iqbal, a police official Hammad and others.
