KARACHI: Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon held a meeting with the Secretary of Local Government and Director-General Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) on Wednesday to discuss demolishing illegal buildings, BOL News reports.
The administration is considering vacating and demolishing the dilapidated structures. Illegal structures are also expected to face severe consequences. The deputy commissioner will lead the plan to demolish dilapidated buildings across the city.

The structures will be vacated on time. During the briefing, it was decided to demolish the dilapidated buildings first. Evacuation measures and legal aspects are also taken into account.
The commissioner also instructed the authorities to scrutinize where the warehouses are being built in the high rises and departmental stores. Not only this, but the authorities will also inspect the building plan that whether it is approved as per the requirement of the warehouse.
He ordered strict actions against the violations in this regard.
SBCA should take action as per the legal requirements to ensure the law and order situation and should make a master plan for toppling the buildings, commissioner Karachi advised.
