Singapore intends to revitalize its business areas with new residential, recreational, and lifestyle initiatives in the next years in order to build people-friendly neighborhoods.

The city-state will continue to establish playcenters, or smaller business districts, in addition to the main central region, so that more workers can stay closer to home, according to the Urban Redevelopment Authority in a long-term plan released on Monday.

The long-term plan also includes the rebuilding of the Paya Lebar Air Base, which will free up approximately 800 hectares of land, residential layouts planned for hybrid styles of working, and more communities with a growing mix of public and private housing.
