Joe Cordina became Wales’ 13th world champion when he knocked out IBF super-featherweight champion Kenichi Ogawa in the second round.
Cordina wins the world title in only his 15th professional bout after throwing the blow of a lifetime.
Cordina’s massive right hook dropped the champion, who was unable to rise as Cordina won the world title in dramatic fashion.
“I feel like I’m on top of the world,” Cordina exclaimed after his incredible victory.

The style of Cordina’s victory will send shockwaves through the super-featherweight division, as he produced a tremendous shot to prove he is absolutely comfortable at a world level despite being a small favourite against a champion with true lineage.
Cordina, a talented amateur, has had his possibilities curtailed in recent years due to a hand ailment that necessitated surgery and put his career in jeopardy.
Cordina, who has gone undefeated in 14 professional fights since his debut in 2017, was boxing in his hometown for the first time in four years in an attempt to join Wales’ legendary list of 12 world champions.
