Karachi and Punjab police recovered Dua Zehra from Bahawalnagar on Sunday.
According to Bol TV report, in a joint operation, the Karachi and Punjab police rescued Dua Zehra and arrested her husband Zaheer and the sheltering facilitator.

Dua Zehra and Zaheer, who are being shifted from Bahawalnagar to Karachi, are in the custody of the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), while their facilitator is being shifted to Lahore by Punjab police for interrogation.
SSP AVCC Zubair Nazir Sheikh said that raids had been carried out across the country for the recovery of the girl.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dua’s father, after filing a case, had pleaded the court to declare the marriage of his daughter and Zaheer Ahmed as illegal.
He asserted that according to her birth certificate, Dua Zehra was less than 14 years old at the time of marriage. Underage marriage is a crime under the Child Marriage Act 2013. According to NADRA records, she is 13 years old.

On the other hand, the court had also removed acting IG Sindh Kamran Fazal from his post for failing to recover the girl.
