Meteorological Department issues heatwave alerts across country

Pakistan Meteorological Department issued another heat wave alert across the country. According to the reports by the department, most parts of the country will be in the grip of extreme heat next week.

The Meteorological Department has forecast severe hot-spell in different parts of the country from June 5 to 9. An alert has also been issued in this regard stating that East Balochistan including South Punjab and Central and Northern areas of Sindh will be in the grip of extreme heat for the next 4 to 5 days.

As per reports, the temperature in Sindh is likely to be more than 45 degrees during this wave. The Meteorological Department has clarified that there is no possibility of a heat wave in Karachi but the temperature is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees.

On the other hand, Meteorological Department has predicted that monsoon entry in Karachi is likely to be earlier than usual. The intensity of heat in Quaid city is expected to drop slightly from today.
As per details, cloudburst winds will probably enter Karachi in mid of June. This year’s monsoon is forecast to bring more rain than usual. All monsoon-supporting mechanisms are already in place, and the weather will continue to be hot and humid until mid-June.
