UPPER DIR: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Saturday said he never bowed down before anyone because La Ilaha Illallah taught him so.
“La Ilaha Illallah taught us to bow down before Allah (SWT) only. When the International Monetary Fund (IMF) pressurised us to increase petrol and diesel prices, we further lowered the prices,” Imran Khan said addressing a rally in Upper Dir.
He said his government tried its best not to put the burden of diesel and petrol price on the masses, because when fuel price increased every other thing followed suit.
“Therefore, we had stopped its price and we were trying to increase wealth and earning of our country to balance it,” he said adding that Pakistan’s average income grew during his tenure.
When his government came into power, the average income was Rs16,180 and when they left the government the average income reached Rs26,300, he said adding that it went up 62 per cent.
“We collected taxes and cut other expenses to lower burdens from the masses. We introduced health cards. We introduced interest free loans for businesses and farmers,” he said.
After petrol and diesel, the PTI chief said, last night the imported government increased gas price by 45 per cent.
On the other hand, he said his government had a record exports. While, since the imported government had come into the power, exports had declined by 10 per cent.
“We increased IT industry by 75 per cent.” He asked then why his government was taken down.

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto carried out ‘Mehngai March’ to oust his government but their own government had increased inflation in one month what his government did in three and a half years.
Imran Khan said America and Israel imposed cherry blossom on us. They brought him into power not for his ability but his obedience to the masters, he alleged.
He took first order from them to bring the unprecedented inflation by increasing petrol and diesel prices by Rs60, he maintained.
The former PM said flour price increased by 38 per cent, meat by 20 per cent, rice by 48 per cent, chicken by 62 per cent, ghee/ oil by 50 per cent, lentils by 21-22 per cent, onion by 30 per cent and eggs by 24 per cent.
The only way out of the current situation was holding general elections, he sugggested.
He said the conspiracy against his government was hatched through American Ambassador Donald Lu as he in a meeting said to our ambassador that Imran Khan should be removed from power.
When the national committee admitted that it was an interference in our national matters, then was it not the responsibility of the ones responsible for our defence to make full efforts against it, he wondered.
Before lashing out at the coalition government, PTI Chief Imran appealed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to build a large stadium for sports activities in the area. He said his government’s priority was to promote sports and other healthy activities. “Two or three big stadiums should be constructed in every city,” he said.
All the country was crying that the imported government was unacceptable, he said adding that he wanted the country not to accept anybody’s slavery.
“Until Pakistan will not return to the ideology for which it was created, we will never be able to become that nation that was dreamt by Muhammad Iqbal and for which Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah struggled,” he said.
