TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa police said on Thursday that a gunman who killed four people at a medical building in the Oklahoma city went there to kill a doctor he blamed for his post-surgery agony.
According to Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin, the gunman, identified as Michael Lewis, entered a building on the St. Francis Health System campus with an AR-15-style rifle and began fire, killing two doctors and two other persons.
According to Franklin, Lewis, who killed himself, left a letter at the scene.
Several more were injured in addition to the four fatalities.
The shooting comes after two mass shootings that have shocked Americans and reignited a long-running debate about tightening firearms ownership restrictions.
