Ankara reiterates its threat to prevent Nordic nations from joining the security alliance due to alleged ‘terrorist assistance.’

Turkey’s foreign minister said Finland and Sweden should alter their laws if necessary to earn Ankara’s support in their historic effort to join NATO; in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, reiterating a threat to block a NATO enlargement.
Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Tuesday that Turkey, which has been a member of NATO for seven decades; will not relinquish its resistance to the accession of the two Nordic nations unless its demands were addressed; echoing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s previous remarks.
