KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Pre-Hajj flights will commence from June 6, 2022 with the first flight departing from Islamabad with 329 intending pilgrims for the holy city of Madinah, a statement said on Tuesday.
With the announcement of Hajj operation commencement by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the PIA’s Hajj flights schedule has been finalised.
The PIA will transport nearly 15,000 intending pilgrims of the government’s Hajj Scheme and 18,000 intending pilgrims of private Hajj scheme.
The national flag carrier will operate Hajj flights from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta and Multan. The airline will operate nearly 331 flights, while the Pre-Hajj flights will conclude on July 3.
PIA Chief Executive Officer Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat will supervise the entire Hajj operations. Additionally, Minister for Aviation, Khawaja Saad Rafique has instructed the PIA officials to provide best services to the pilgrims.
PIA’s Post Hajj operation of bringing back Hujjaj from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan will commence from July 14 and conclude on August 13, 2022.
