After the shooting Tuesday that killed 19 kids and two teachers, schools in a number of jurisdictions, including Connecticut, Michigan, and New York, have increased police presence.

As a result of the elementary school tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, schools throughout the country have hired more security personnel and limited visits as they prepare to deal with a new wave of copycat threats.

For some families and instructors, it’s all added to their anxiety in the aftermath of the deadliest school massacre since Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.
