As scenes of turmoil erupted outside the Stade de France yesterday, a football fan who previously worked for Liverpool Football Club revealed how his daughter was “pressed against a turnstile in tears.”
“Worst ever experience at a UEFA final,” Paul Rodgers, who previously worked with the club’s international digital development team, stated in a tweet.
“Arrived two hours before kick-off, turnstiles wouldn’t let fans with tickets in – massive crush. My daughter was pinned against a turnstile in tears. Stewards ignored it – it was fans that lifted her up to safety. Then tear gassed leaving.”
Mr. Rodgers continued, saying that his daughter was “badly shaken” but “avoided damage.”
“Outside afterwards was like a war zone. I won’t go to a game in Paris again,” he added.
