Abigail Breslin and Luke Wilson will star in a courtroom drama film that will be released soon. According to sources, the film is titled “Miranda’s Victim” and is directed by Michelle Danner of “The Runner” fame.
The film is now shooting in New Jersey and will star veteran actors Andy Garcia and Donald Sutherland.
The actual tale of Trish Weir (Breslin), who was kidnapped and brutally raped by Ernesto Miranda in 1963, will be told in “Miranda’s Victim.”
Trish’s life is wrecked by America’s justice system when she activates a statute that alters the country, despite her commitment to putting her assailant in prison.
Wilson will portray Lawrence Turoff, a country prosecutor who persuades Trish to testify and assists her in bringing her assailant to justice, while Garcia will play Alvin Moore, a public defender who takes on Miranda’s case.
Judge Wren, played by Sutherland, condemns Miranda for the rape of Weir.
The screenplay for the film was written by J Craig Stiles and George Kolber, and it is produced by Danner, Kolber, Valerie Debler, Brian Drillinger, and Alexandra Guarnieri.
