Amazon is in negotiations to buy Emerald Fennell’s ‘Saltburn’

The rights to British actor-filmmaker Emerald Fennell’s upcoming feature film “Saltburn” are being negotiated by Amazon Studios. The studio is in active talks with production banner MRC for the film, which will begin shooting in the UK later this year, according to a news portal.

Rosamund Pike will star in the new picture, which will be written and directed by Fennell, who won an Academy Award for best original screenplay for her directorial debut “Promising Young Woman.”

Though there are little information about the project, it will revolve around a “tale of obsession.”

Fennell and LuckyChap Entertainment’s Josey McNamara, Tom Ackerley, and Margot Robbie will produce the film, which will also star “Eternals” actor Barry Keoghan and “Euphoria” star Jacob Elordi.

Fennell has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ “Barbie,” which is now filming in the United Kingdom. She has previously been in films such as “The Danish Girl,” “Anna Karenina,” and the OTT series “The Crown.”
