QUETTA: Advisor to Balochistan Chief Minister on Home, Tribal Affairs and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Mir Ziaullah Langau has said that a security plan has been drawn up to maintain law and order during the local body elections to be held on May 29.
More than 21,000 police and levies personnel and officers will be deployed at polling stations in 32 districts of Balochistan, said the advisor to Balochistan chief minister. He made these remarks in a statement on Friday.
He said that besides police and levies at the most sensitive polling stations, Pakistan Army and FC have also been kept on high alert while effective strategy has been adopted to ensure fool-proof security.
He said that in case of any emergency, Pakistan Army and FC will be deployed as a quick response force.
“It is responsibility of the government to provide a peaceful environment to the people during the period of suffrage. So, the security situation in the province has been reviewed in detail in the law and order meetings,” he said.
Ziaullah Langau said that people must use their vote to participate in their right to vote.
“People should go to the polling station without any fear and use their right to vote,” Zia Langau said.
CM approves Rs60 crore for security arrangements
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo on Friday approved Rs60 crore for security arrangements during the local bodies elections in the province.
A summary in this regard was sent by the Balochistan Home Department to the chief minister for security arrangements during the local bodies elections in the province which he approved.
“These funds will be utilized for the deployment of security forces in the districts and their logistical facilities during the local body elections,” he said.
