Court approves bails of two PTI leaders, Hassaan Niazi

LAHORE: A Lahore sessions court on Friday approved interim bails of two Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leaders and Barrister Hassaan Niazi in the case pertaining to protest and participation in May 25 ‘Long March’.

The court has stopped police from arresting them till June 4. However, they should be interrogated and report on that should be presented to the court, the court directed.

Additional Sessions Judge Bilal Baig was hearing the petitions of Jamshed Cheema, Musarrat Jamshed and Hassaan Niazi.

They had pleaded to the court that they were mentioned in the case on no ground so they should be given an interim bail for fear of their arrest.

On the flip side, Hassaan, in a tweet, demanded immediate suspension of the CCPO Lahore and DIG Lahore for the humiliation and torture done by Punjab Police. “We demand arrest of Isa sukhera for torturing lawyers and destroying vehicles and stealing iPhones,” he tweeted.

After former prime minister Imran Khan called off his ‘Azadi March,’ the sword of Damocles is hanging over PTI MNAs, MPAs, and workers as they might be jailed for marching in the streets.

PTI leaders Khurram Sher Zaman, Jamal Siddiqui, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Arsalan Taj, and others in Karachi went to the Sindh High Court (SHC) to deal with the matter.

Upon their arrival, BOL News inquired if they were in the high court for bail to which they responded skeptically that they were only there for a cup of tea.

As per sources, cases are already registered against PTI leaders and members of the Sindh provincial assembly in Soldier Bazar and Feroz Police station.
