New Zealand women’s cricket team vice-captain Amy Satterthwaite has announced her retirement from international cricket.

Bryan Stronach, NZC’s general manager of high performance, praised Sattherhwaite’s accomplishments but explained that the goal of the contacts list, which will be announced on Friday, was to identify some new players and focus on T20I cricket with the Commonwealth Games later this year and the T20 World Cup in early 2023. Following Bob Carter’s expected exit after the ODI World Cup, New Zealand has yet to name a new head coach.

New Zealand Cricket says Amy has announced her retirement after not being offered a central contract for next season.

According to a foreign news agency, Amy is the player who has played the most ODIs for New Zealand.

She added, “I’m immensely pleased with my experience with the White Ferns, even taking the time away to give birth to our daughter, Grace,” she said. “I didn’t know if I’d ever make it back to the top-level, and I hope my experience might inspire other mothers and mothers-to-be that it is possible to pursue your job aspirations while raising a family.”

Amy Satterthwaite also led the New Zealand team, playing 111 T20s and 145 ODIs for New Zealand.
