Russian officials say, Azov Sea port of Mariupol now free from mines

The Russian defense ministry just claimed that civil vessels can now securely utilize the Azov Sea port of Mariupol in Ukraine.

Now that the threat of mines has been removed.

In the Azov Sea, a maritime humanitarian corridor was inaugurated on Wednesday.

It comes after more than 2,400 Ukrainian fighters surrendered at the besieged Azovstal steelworks.

There, they where holed up for weeks, and Russia took full control of Mariupol last week.
