China’s space tracking ship Yuanwang-3 set off from a port in east China’s Jiangsu Province on Thursday for its first mission of the year. During this journey, the ship will complete its 100th marine mission.
Yuanwang-3 is the first ship in China’s Yuanwang fleet to complete its hundredth mission.
Yuanwang-3 is a second-generation Chinese space tracking vehicle that was launched on May 18, 1995.
It primarily performs maritime measurement and control operations as well as communication missions for satellites, spacecraft, and space stations.
It has completed over 90 marine tracking and monitoring jobs for spacecraft including as the Shenzhou spaceships, Chang’e lunar probes, and BeiDou satellites.
