The revelations that Johnson and his staff broke the standards they imposed on others have sparked fury in the United Kingdom; prompting calls for the prime minister to quit.

LONDON — According to a study released Wednesday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other senior officials are to blame for a culture of rule-breaking that led to many parties breaking the UK’s Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
The revelations that Johnson and his staff routinely broke the standards they imposed on others have sparked fury in the United Kingdom; prompting calls for the prime minister to quit from his opponents.
Johnson stated that he accepts “full responsibility for everything that occurred”; but that he will not resign.
Sue Gray, a senior civil servant, said in her assessment into the “partygate” affair; she said that the “senior leadership team… must bear responsibility” for a culture that permitted occurrences that “should not have been allowed to happen.”
Gray looked into 16 gatherings attended by Johnson and his colleagues in 2020 and 2021, when coronavirus regulations prevented people in the United Kingdom from socialising or even seeing sick and dying relatives.
