A member of Students Demand Action says students are upset by their inability to effect change.

Students throughout the country are “frustrated with the inability to make change,” according to Ade Osadolor-Hernandez; he is a national advisory board member of Students Demand Action; a gun violence prevention organisation, who spoke on MSNBC Wednesday.

A member of Students Demand Action says students are upset by their inability to effect change.

“Thoughts and prayers aren’t enough. “We need to demand action,” Osadolor-Hernandez added, citing policymakers’ “lack of response.”

She pointed out that Latinx individuals are twice as likely as white people to die from gun homicide; and Latinx children and teens are three times as likely.

Guns were the biggest cause of death among adolescents and teenagers in the United States in 2020. She said, “despite this being a very painful moment; we are gathering and attempting to impact our communities in the best way that we possibly can,” saying that students are “very driven for change and extremely passionate to create safer communities.”
