“It has been an exceedingly painful 24 hours,” Texas State Senator Roland Gutierrez, a Democrat who represents the Uvalde region, stated on MSNBC on Wednesday.”

He described seeing Robb Elementary students’ families crowded together, praying as they awaited word from their children at the reunion facility on Tuesday.
“When I got to the reunion facility; I witnessed people waiting to find out whether their child was dead or alive.” You could hear hysterical sobbing as individuals learned that their child had died.”
“And I began to worry about the 19 parents who would no longer be able to bring their children to school.”
He predicted that, like the Sutherland Springs, Texas shooting in 2017, the wounds of the shooting would linger for a long period in the community.
