On Wednesday, as the tragedy in their own country grew; Ukrainian leaders recognised parallels in the pain of young lives lost in the latest mass shooting in the United States.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to those affected by the shooting at a Texas elementary school; and appeared to make analogies to the mounting death toll caused by Russia’s invasion.
Zelenskyy expressed his sympathy for the tragic loss of young lives; during what should be a “calm moment” at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, via video link.

“I’d want to convey my sympathies to all of the families and family members of the children who were slain in the terrible massacre in a Texas elementary school,” Zelenskyy stated. “As far as I know at this time; 21 people have been slain, including 19 children.”

“Innocent youngsters are being slaughtered in an absolutely tranquil moment,” Zelenskyy added; as other Ukrainian authorities expressed their sorrow over the school tragedy.
