After a mass shooting at an elementary school in his hometown of Uvalde murdered at least 19 students and two teachers, actor Matthew McConaughey called on Americans to “re-evaluate.”

“This is an epidemic we can manage,” McConaughey said on Twitter Tuesday night. “We all know we can do better, regardless of which side of the aisle we may stand on.”
As Texas suffered its deadliest school massacre since 2012, the “Dallas Buyers Club” star urged all Americans to “re-evaluate and re-negotiate our wants from our needs.”
“We have regrettably demonstrated once again that we are failing to be responsible for the privileges that our freedom grants us,” he said.
