Tear gas shelling to disperse PTI activists in Lahore

LAHORE: Punjab Police resorted to tear gas shelling at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally led by Dr Yasmin Rashid, reported Bol News.

As per sources privy to the matter, Police contingents have taken a position in the province and were given instructions to shell tear gas on PTI activists.

The PTI activists were instructed to gather at Lahore’s Bhatti chowk to proceed towards Islamabad for the march.

Dr Yasmin Rashid asserted that she was pushed and dragged along by the police. Furthermore, she also claimed that her driver was arrested from the spot.

Not only in Lahore, rallies and processions in other areas also brave excessive tear gas shelling.

In Mianwali, tear gas shelling by the Punjab police took place on PTI leaders Amjad Khan, Ahmed Khan, Sardar Muhammad Sabteen Khan.

However, the activists broke through the barriers placed by the authorities in order to proceed with the march.

On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has claimed that weapons were discovered in the possession of PTI’s leader during raids.

He said that the discovery of weapons clearly showed the intentions of PTI’s march against the incumbent government.
