According to ‘Deadline,’ Hollywood actor Tom Cruise recently brought ‘The Late Late Show’ presenter James Corden on an aircraft in a special video, four years after he begged him to jump off of one.
The actor picked up Corden, who announced in April that he would be quitting the late-night world, for a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the desert, and piloted him in a vintage fighter plane for the day. Tom may be heard saying in the video,”I’m very excited that James is doing this. Was he the first late-night show I asked? Hell, no. He was just the first one the only one who said yes.”
According to ‘Deadline,’ Cruise and Corden got into a dogfight aboard the antique plane. Just as Corden believes he’s made it, Cruise reminds him that they’ll be flying again, this time in a modern-day fighter plane. But first, there’s Top Gun training. “You are my goose,” Cruise says. “I get thrilled when you say I’m your Goose, and then I realise Goose dies at the end of the film,” Corden responds.
During their overnight campfire stay, Corden, who is better known for travelling with celebrities in automobiles around LA rather than planes in the desert, and Cruise got to burst out a few bars of Kenny Loggins’ classic Top Gun track Danger Zone.
“This is crazy,” says Corden, who does not sugarcoat the issue, making for a fantastic Late Late Show viral clip. As they disembark, Cruise says, “You can be my wingman, anytime,” “You know what? I think I’m good,” Corden chuckles.
