On Tuesday, Russia intensified its eastern onslaught, attempting to encircle two important cities in the Donbas region.

The Russians were focused their efforts on surrounding Lysychansk and Severodonetsk; according to both the Ukrainian military and Serhiy Haidai, the governor of the region’s Luhansk province.
If successful, the operation will cut off Ukrainian soldiers in the twin cities, which are located on opposite sides of the key Siversky Donets River.
