Russia’s parliament will consider a bill that would eliminate the upper age limit for military recruitment.
Soldiers must be 18 to 40 years old to join the military, or 18 to 30 years old if they are not Russian citizens.
According to DW, the law implies that some military activities require specialized talents, which people may only gain in their mid-30s and 40s.
Since the invasion began, Russia has lost a large number of troops, thus this could be a means to increase recruiting.
