Sheikh Rashid gets pre-arrest bail as six arrested from outside Lal Haveli

RAWALPINDI: After a pre-arrest bail from the Lahore High Court (LHC), Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has got pre-arrest bail from the Islamabad High Court as well.

Meanwhile, six people were arrested from outside Lal Haveli, residence of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

In a tweet, the AML chief said, “At 2 o’clock, a large number of police raided Lal Haveli again and arrested six innocent persons from Lal Haveli and took them with them.”

He said police had been deployed in uniform and plain clothes around Lal Haveli so that the “Azadi March rally” could be stopped at 2:00 pm on Wednesday.

On May 7, Sheikh Rashid has got a pre-arrest bail in a case pertaining to instigating people against the coalition government leaders in Masjid e Nabawi (SAWW).

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday claimed that former president Asif Ali Zardari was dictating Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Bol news reported.

“Asif Zardari is turning Shehbaz around his little finger. N-League has become a sub-party of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP),” Shah Mahmood Qureshi said.

He said the time to take decision was slipping from hands of the government. The government had panicked as the claimant of democracy were arresting people, he maintained. He said the PTI did not arrest the members of PPP and Jamiat Ulama e Islam-F (JUI-F), when they protested.
