The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce said late Monday that shopping malls and department stores will resume their offline operations on June 1.
Shopping malls and department shops are permitted to reopen offline operations in phases and in a systematic way, with total customer flow not surpassing 50% of maximum capacity before May 31 and not exceeding 75% after June 1.
Meanwhile, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce stated that catering, hairdressing, and homemaking services will gradually restart.
Shanghai is making progress toward reopening after the latest outbreak of COVID-19 infections brought the 25-million-strong metropolis to a halt. Infectious disease transmission has been halted in all 16 districts.
Shanghai’s city health authority reported 58 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 422 local asymptomatic cases on Monday.
