Every year, about 10 million skilled employees are trained in China’s secondary and post-secondary vocational institutions, according to the Ministry of Education (MOE).
According to the MOE, vocational colleges enrolled 5.57 million students in 2021, up 1.8 million from ten years previously, while secondary vocational schools attracted 4.89 million students.
According to survey results, more than 70% of new employees for enterprises in contemporary manufacturing, strategic developing industries, and modern services, among other sectors, are graduates of vocational schools.
According to the MOE, the number of full-time instructors for vocational schools increased 17 percent from 2012 to 1.29 million in 2021, underpinning the expansion of China’s vocational education during the previous decade.
